Christie is a Power, Flow, Hatha and Meditation teacher at YYOGA.

Expect challenging but thoughtful sequencing, easeful transitions and lots of learning in Christie's classes.

About Christie, in her own words:
I love spontaneity, but need stability! The mat provides me with both. My passion for creative expression came to life at a very young age through adventures in my backyard and dance parties in my living room. I pursued studies in dance that led me to a degree from Ryerson. When I walked away from my dance career I realized it was not only a means of self-expression, it was a way for me to ‘let go’, and an exhilarating form of mental therapy.

When I discovered the practice of yoga, I felt as if I were home. The freedom, creativity and release I had experienced in dance transformed into my spiritual practice. I acquired my 200hr teacher training in 2008, and my love affair with yoga continues to inspire me towards personal inquiry.

It seems like most of the unhappiness in the world comes from a deep feeling of being alone, separate from the beauty around us. Through teaching I hope to bring awareness to the power of community, what it means to live with integrity and treat oneself and others with compassion and love.

For me I feel most connected when I am strong in body and mind. I believe that all styles of yoga have their own benefits and that a well-rounded practice is key.

Breath is life, and gratitude is the ultimate cure.
